About us

A & O Engineering is committed to providing a high level of customer service during each project. We have experience working with all levels of government (local, state, and federal) to obtain land use approvals and permits. The development, planning, and permitting process can be challenging and expensive, but we handle all phases of projects with skill and care. We have navigated these phases many times and can guide your project on the most efficient and economical path possible. Because of our dynamic and multi-talented team functioning together, A & O can provide clients with one point of contact during the complex development approval process.

Owners, Scott Morris and Kyle Morris have the experience, creativity and critical thinking skills to tackle any project and meet every client's needs

Our support staff includes civil engineers, planners and office personnel that are problem solvers who work collaboratively to create successful outcomes and a pleasant work environment. 

Meet the Team: About

Scott Morris, PE

Principal Engineer

Founder of A & O Engineering, Scott Morris is a professional engineer with more than 30 years of experience. He obtained his BS in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University in 1989. He then acquired his PE License in 1993 and he is licensed in Oregon, Washington and Arizona. Scott was the traffic engineer for the City of Springfield from 1990 to 1994, and immediately following he started his professional practice. Some of Scott's hobbies include: hiking, tennis, watching sports and travel.

Kyle Morris, PE

Professional Engineer

Kyle received his BS in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University in 2017. He obtained his PE license in 2020 and is licensed in both Oregon and Idaho. Kyle is a project manager who oversees all aspects of engineering projects, including dealing with clients, contractors, and government agencies. Kyle loves outdoor sports and hiking.

Dylan McIver

Staff EIT

Dylan earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Washington State University in 2020 and he received his Engineer-in-Training certification January 2021. Some of Dylan's hobbies include: video games, reading science fiction books, road-tripping and food.

Austin Hocker

Senior Engineering Technician

Austin is our head technician and has been with A & O Engineering for over 6 years. He earned his Associates Degree in Applied Sciences from Lane Community College in 2018. HIs hobbies include shooting sports, gunsmithing, leathercraft, and enjoying Oregon's great outdoors with his wife and children.

Ken Carver

Senior Engineering/Survey Technician

Ken has been with A & O Engineering for 3+ years and aids with both engineering and survey drafting. He earned a BA in Chemistry/Math from Linfield College in 1984 and has been working in the surveying and engineering field for over 30 years. Ken loves golfing, fishing and watching sports.

Garrett Castle

Construction Inspector

Garrett received an Associate of Arts transfer degree from Lane Community College in 2016. He is an experienced engineering inspector who writes detailed reports and helps keep our projects on track. Some of Garrett's hobbies include: motocross, fishing, backpacking, spending time with his family, and just about anything outdoors.

Sarah Morris

Planning Technician

Sarah obtained a BS in Marketing from Oregon State University in 2020 and in that same year started on the path to obtaining certification from the American Planning Association. Some of Sarah's hobbies include: playing/coaching tennis, hiking, shopping and spending time with her dogs.

Lynda Morris

Office Manager, Bookkeeper

Lynda handles A & O Engineering's bookkeeping, as well as all of the office supply and staff needs. She obtained a BA in French and Russian Language and Literature from Montana State University in 1990. Lynda plays piano and enjoys songwriting. She also enjoys hiking (the easy trails only) with her husband, adult children and two dogs.
